The keys to success are often related to having a sense of purpose, developing essential hard and soft skills, and gaining access to mentors and networks that open up opportunities, provide guidance and support, and unlock possibilities.
A coalition of Greensboro organizations is working to bridge the opportunity gap by helping develop middle school students in East Greensboro through an entrepreneurship, leadership, and mentoring effort.
Mind Your Biz is a dynamic kick-off event on September 24, 2022 at the Xperience @ Caldcleugh community center that will bring some 50 young people together to get their input on this development. There will be food and music, but also a mini-workshop and an opportunity for young people to share their input on the support they need. The findings from the event will be published in a report and inform the strategy and subsequent rollout.
This effort is supported by a coalition of community partners, including CoMetta, Greensboro Parks & Recreation, Guilford College, the Greensboro Neighborhood Congress, and the People’s Market.
